Ask Melinda
As we spread the word that IBM now has a new hiring program for candidates who are studying outside of their home countries and interested in going back after completion of study, we received a lot of interests and questions from international students. Our team has been working feverishly in the last few months on collecting the hiring needs and establishing recruiting processes for different geographies. While you can find general introduction of our international hiring program on our website, you may want to learn more details about our ongoing efforts and communicate with us directly. So, please "Ask Melinda "-- raise your question by commenting on this post and I will try my best to give you the answer. As our program evolves, I am sure I will have more to share:)

I'm so excited to read this blog which tells me the INSIDE life of IBM. And thanks for your reply of my emails, your reply helps me to clear my confuse of the coming job hunting. I'll apply for the IBM-China in a couple of days. Hope I'll be lucky enough to get the position.
Since the title of this post is 'Ask Melinda', I just have one more question. If I'm recruited by IBM-China, is there any chance that I can get some training in the US first? or later?

Hi Melinda,
Your blog is certainly an encouraging one, especially for International student cum job seeker like me, who is going to graduate in this May.
I would like to know what are the chances that IBM would employ student who is going to graduate in months time (for example, myself, in May). Would IBM respond to my application immediately, or they would rather hold on until it is closer to my graduation date?
I hope that you can help me on this. Thank you.

Hi Melinda,
As an IBMer ,I have a glimpse of working with IBM.Currently, as an MBA student at AIM,Philippines and, after doing my analysis on IT Industry,I found IBM practices are one of the best in the Industry.I appreciate the kind of response I received from IBM Corp. ,when I sent a query on Internship program for location: Philippines.
Further ,I have forwarded my Application for Internship (location:Quezon City,Philippines)through the online link provided by Alana Buckner.I would like to know more about the future openings, as I am planning to kick start my Management Career at Philippines. Also,I would like to know more about the IBM Strategy in Philippines as this country is having immense potential of growth despite of Global Slow Down, because of availability of well built - low cost Infrastructure,Affordable Skilled worker and Government Plan for projecting Philippines as Medical Tourism Hub in Asia.
Thanks for your time and consideration.
Thank you,

It is very exciting to know that IBM is establishiing this International Students Hiring Program. It is absolutely one of the best career choices for Chinese students with U.S. education background.
